Located on Hunda Island, the largest area of permanently dry land in this region of the Okavango Delta, Tubu Tree Camp is surrounded by the palatable grasses which lure many species of plains game. A range of diverse habitats, ranging from dry Kalahari sandveld to mopane and riverine forest on the edge of permanent waterways, also ensures diverse and spectacular game viewing.
Tubu Tree Camp is built in traditional style, with five tents on raised wooden platforms - each with picturesque vistas of the floodplains from a private front deck. En-suite bathroom facilities and an outdoor shower are standard. The main dining, lounge areas and pool are also on raised platforms and have panoramic views of the plains game. Tubu Tree Camp also has an outdoor pub area which lies under the canopy of a large marula tree.  Throughout the year day and night game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, as well as guided walks (which must be requested prior to travel), are available. There are two platform hides in the concession, offering incredible up-close viewing. During winter, the water levels around Tubu Tree Camp rise and the floodplains become covered with water (normally May to late September). This allows for a wide range of water activities from boating and fishing to moroko trips.

Room

The camp sleeps a maximum of 10 guests in 5 large and comfortable tents. The tents have a small and private deck in front. Each tent has en suite bathroom facilities, with hot and cold running water, consisting of flush toilet, hand basin, and private outdoor shower. The main dining and lounge areas are also large tents on raised platforms, with an outdoor pub area built under the canopy of a large marula tree. Food at Tubu Tree Camp is plentiful, and you can expect to indulge in a variety of cuisines.

Standard Tent

Elevated walkways through the canopy link the traditional style camp with eight secluded tents on raised platforms, taking in the marvellous scenery of the surrounding floodplain. Each tent has a private front deck, en-suite bathroom facilities and an outdoor shower. There is a family unit consisting of two adjoining tents with separate bathrooms and a shared lounge.

Dining

Dining at Tubu Tree Camp is a casual affair and usually served at the long dining table in the dining area. A light breakfast is served before your morning activity but a more substantial brunch is served buffet style on your mid-morning return. Afternoon tea is a diverse selection of sweet and savoury snacks, while dinner is an elegant three-course mea

Recreation

The social areas lead out onto a wooden viewing deck while the quirky outdoor pub incorporates the branches of a large marula tree into its design. Many after-dinner conversations occur at the bar or around the fire pit in front of camp. Further along a wooden walkway is the camp's swimming pool, complete with a number of sun loungers well positioned to take in the views of the floodplains.

Onsite Recreation

Tubu Tree Camp offers game drives with experienced guides in open 4 x 4 vehicles during the day and night, as well as walking with an armed guide. When the flood is in, boating, fishing and mokoro trips are also offered. Transfers by mokoros can also be undertaken during the flood season, to transfer to Jacana Camp that is a water camp in the eastern area of the Jao concession.
